A GREATER DESTINY AHEAD

DESTINED FOR GREATNESS

Mark 5:1-20

5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.^[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. ³ This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. ⁴ For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. ⁵ Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

⁶ When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. ⁷ He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” ⁸ For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”

⁹ Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” ¹⁰ And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

¹¹ A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. ¹² The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” ¹³ He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

¹⁴ Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. ¹⁵ When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. ¹⁶ Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. ¹⁷ Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.

¹⁸ As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. ¹⁹ Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” ²⁰ So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis^[b] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

Hey!Wonderful child of the Great God of wonders .Welcome once more to The stable Sanctuary ;a cool site for you.Today ,May I take you to a journey of self discovery  of the real you;

by the way of study of the above stated scripture from The Holy Bible .It is a story set on the eastern shore of Galilee ;the area of the town of Gadara,three miles from the sea of Galilee.

Our Lord Jesus Christ had just come out of the ship and immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.This shows that Jesus Christ had Prior knowledge of

the man and He was on a mission to have the man set free.Jesus had previously calmed the storm at sea and now he was coming to calm the storm in the man’s life . The man had enormous power within him; he could break any chains used  to bind him.He had superhuman Strength provided by the unclean spirit.Daily he roamed the mountain side , in tombs ,crying and cutting himself with stones.His life was quite deplorable.   Immediately he saw Jesus a far off, he ran and worshipped Him.Yes; Satan trembles in the Presence of Jesus Christ.The devil loses control where Jesus Christ is present. The Spirit in the man cried with a loud voice”…you,Jesus Christ , the son of The Most High God” The evil spirit knew who Jesus was.Then Jesus ordered the unclean spirit to come out of the man.The unclean spirit has

to obey Jesus.This is wonderful . Jesus then asked for the name of  the unclean spirit ;and he said ,” My name is Legion :for we are many.”Knowing what Jesus had come to do, the unclean spirit requested Jesus not to send them out of the country.They requested Jesus to send into the herd of pigs that were  feeding nearby.Remember ; evil spirits operating in a given territory never want

to leave that region.Eh!

Jesus christ permitted the unclean spirit to enter into the pigs and immediately the herd of pigs all ran violently down a steep place into the sea where they drowned. Imagine ;two thousand

pigs .This shows that the unclean spirits were quite many . God is always right> He makes no mistakes. The people of the area were astonished greatly. They requested Jesus to leave their coasts. Fear  of unknown  prevented them from accessing  the nature,will and power of God that had visited them through  Jesus Christ.

The people saw the man who had been possessed by the evil spirit ; now in sober mind , clothed and fully restored to normal. The man wanted to go with Jesus and the disciples but jesus

said to him ‘” Go home to your friends, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for you and has  had compassion on you .” Precisely, Jesus Christ commisioned the man to:

Go tell

Great things which the Lord has done

Tell of the compassion

The man went and began to publish the good news of Jesus Christ in Decapolis; a region east of the Jordan River. Decapolis mean ten cities;  actually there were several towns and cities in that

region. The man became an evangelist;  What a great change Jesus Christ initiated in this man? Indeed, Jesus Christ brings forth a revolutionising change in People’s lives. When the enemy spirits thought that they had derailed the man’s life , Jesus Christ came to restore him back on the track of a greater destiny. Kindly note that this  was a highly learned man; a scholar of high reputation. Always call on Jesus Christ; He knows the way ahead ;even the way of your descendants down the line of time

THE TRIUMPH IS COMPLETE

COLOSSIANS 2:14 ,15

¹⁴ having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. ¹⁵ And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.^[a]

Jesus Christ , Our Lord and saviour, has fought and won the battle against all our enemies.  He blotted out any evil handwriting of elements that were to destroy us. He spoiled principalities

and powers; to the extend that Satan and all his henchmen fell defeated at the cross. Our sin is forgiven . Our victory is sure in Jesus Christ . The entire Universe stands to testify of the great victory

Jesus Christ won for the entire human race. we have complete victory.You and I can now live,work and walk in the power accessed by  the finished work at the cross. The Precious blood of Jesus

Christ yields immense power ; making us to become more than counquerors . Indeed , we have everlasting victory ; now and in the world to come. We can profoundly declare and decree that our generations are highly and wonderfully blessed through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ . We have accessed a greater  destiny

LIFE MORE ABUNDANT

GENESIS 41:40-45

⁴¹ So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” ⁴² Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. ⁴³ He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command,^[a] and people shouted before him, “Make way^[b]!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

⁴⁴ Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.” ⁴⁵ Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On,^[c] to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt

Here is the story of Joseph after he had come out of prison in Egypt .He is being promoted to the office of prime minister in the land of Egypt. This makes Joseph one of the most powerful men in

the world .Remember ; from prison to the palace as a prime minister. Hey, God makes no mistakes. For Pharaoh to give   Joseph his ring shows that Pharaoh was now delegating much authority

to this thirty year old young man.Eh! I love that. Joseph was now in control of the entire Egypt.

Imagine that Pharaoh now gives Joseph a new name “zaphnath-paaneah” This was highly prophetic. In Hebrew, the name Joseph means ” Jehovah shall add ” his Egyptian name means ;

“life more abudant” ; hence it all means ” Jehovah shall add life more abudant ” Wow. Is not  this Jesus Christ doing it all? Check John 10:10; it says “…….I am come that they might have life and

have it more abudantly” Surely, Jesus Christ  is the source of Life and all it’s goodness in abounding measure. Immeasurable goodness is in Christ Jesus.

Finally, Pharaoh  grants Joseph a wife , lovely and beautiful , the daughter of poti-pherah, Priest of On. Yea, God’s way is always Perfect , Steadfast, sure , marvellous and Prosperous .

This is all it means ; a greater destiny ahead

#No difficult situation is parmanent

*Your triumph , Your victory is already worked pout.

*Through Jesus Christ , God adds life more abudant .

*Jesus Christ loves you
