WHAT GOD LOOKS AT

1 SAMUEL 16:7-13

1 Samuel 16:7–13 (ESV): 7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.” 8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.” 9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.” 10 And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The LORD has not chosen these.”

11 Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

Hi, Dear child of The Mighty God in the Highest Heaven. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. Today, we want to look at an episode concerning the Divine call of a friend of the sanctuary. The scripture from the Holy Bible as stated above speaks of prophet Samuel when God send him to the house of Jesse , the Beth-lemite to annoint David; the youngest son of Jesse. On this occasion, Jesse brought his eldest sons but David was not present. The Lord rejected seven sons of Jesse as they were presented to Samuel one by one. Check verse 7: God knows  the heart of Man.

  A YOUNG SHEPHERD BOY

Now look at verses 11 and 12 . David was the youngest. Humble and polite due to life’s funny cricumstances he had undergone. You too might have passed through the very difficult situations. Allow me to let you know that God knows your sorrows, cryings and tears. He will remember you and lift you high one day.

THE  ANNOINTING

Immediately David appears at the scene, The Lord said to Samuel, ” Arise, annoint him: For this is he .” David was probably 15 years old. He would have to wait for another 15 years before he becomes King of Israel. In life, humility and patience work together for one to access desirable outcomes. The annointing of David by prophet Samuel set on Course the beginning of the glory days of Israel upto today and forever. [ Matthew 1: 1 and Revelation 22:16]

SERVICE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD

The Prophet Samuel had passion to teach young men music skills. This enabled David to become a great musician of the Sanctuary. He wrote most of the Psalms. In 1st Chronicles chapter twenty three, we see David making Solomon King of Israel. He also organises how service in the House of God has to be carried out by the Levites. Surely, David was a man after God’s heart. We have to work to ensure God’s house is in good order and excellent service is carried out in the sanctuary for the glory of God.

# May you experience a new beginning in Jesus Christ.

# Always serve God with gladness. Amen.
