THE GREAT I AM
GENESIS 15:1-7
Genesis 15:1–7 (ESV): 15 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” 2 But Abram said, “O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.” 4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” 5 And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 6 And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
7 And he said to him, “I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”
Hi, Dear Child of The Mighty God of The Universe. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. The above outlined scripture from The Holy Bible depicts an episode between God, The maker and sustainer of The Universe; and His friend; Abraham. Abraham had just had a difficult time of war against five Kings , a battle that Abraham lodged with a small army of 318 men whom he had trained. The Lord God is a man of war. He fought for Abraham and delivered great victory to His friend ; Abraham. Hey, Life has many huge battles. Don’t despise yourself as you trust in God, He will surely fight for you and grant you decisive victories.
Exodus 3:14,15 ; God reveals who He is : The Great I AM. Meaning: ” I was , I am and I shall always continue to be. I am whatever you need.” This shows that God Almighty can do anything for His children. Here is The True God we need. The only one who can help us overcome all our life’s challenges. He is ever prepared to assist us.
THE PROMISE:
Here, we see God’s promise to Abraham. He says, “I am your shield and your exceeding great reward.” This is after the battle. Always, after any great challenge, one may tend to have fear of the unknown. There is need to trust in God for future engagements in life. God’s promise can never fail to materialize. He keeps His word.
A GOOD QUESTION:
In verse two, Abraham has a question. He poses the question to God; whom he is sure that He is his friend. In like manner, Our God is our friend. So intimate in nature. He is always with us; everywhere we go . Jesus says; ” I am with you always……” [ Matthew 28:20] In verse 4, God provides an answer to Abraham’s question.God is always ready to assure us in whatever we desire according to His Will.
THE ANSWER FROM HEAVEN:
From verse 5-7, God explains His mission to Abraham. Here God is well set to pronounce blessings unto His friend; Abraham. In the same way God is prepared to speak to us an eternal blessing; that begins with generational blessings. When we believe what God says, we become righteous like Abraham. Generational blessings follow us all the way.
