ACTING IN GRACE
JOHN 4:45-55
Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilæans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast. So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
Hi, Dear Child of The Mighty God in The Highest Heaven. We salute you. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary: a House for your Spiritual nourishment. The Holy Bible text outlined above is an episode set in Cana of Galilee. Here, we find Jesus Christ acting in Grace and power of The Holy Spirit following a good reception he had been accorded by the precious people of Galilee. They really loved to see Jesus Christ. Likewise , you and I need to develop a cordial relationship with Jesus Christ. He shall dearly love to abide in us; directing our daily life activities. His high desire is to enable us to succeed, in whatever we do that is in line with God’s word. Check Deuteronomy 8:18…” For it is He who gives you power to get wealth….” Prosperity is accessed due to God’s intelligence and power.
A DESPERATE NOBLE MAN
Verse 46 states that there was a noble man whose son was sick in Capernaum. The man was a high ranking official in Herods administration. Jesus fame had spread widely. So the noble man came to see Jesus Christ to help restore his son’s health as he was at the point of death. Verse 49 shows the desperation in the noble man’s mind . Jesus Christ could easily read the noble man’s psychology: Great desperation. In verse 50, Christ tells him,” Go your way; your son lives” In our desperate moments, Jesus Christ bears FAITH on our behalf so as to alleviate our suffering. He is not pleased to see us suffering due to unbelief on our part. He cares for us. Luckily, the man believed what Jesus Said to Him.
GREAT FAITH
A combination of verse 50 and 51 illustrate what great Faith may comprise. Here, we find The Spoken word of Jesus Christ, the noble man’s response and the report the noble man is given by his servants who came to meet him before he reached home. The noble man’s servant told him ,” Your son lives” These are the very words that Jesus had used. From this, we realize that faith comes by hearing the word of God. We need to access God’s word daily for it alone constitutes our daily bread; and without it everything else becomes of little or no value. God’s word is our life
REWARD OF FAITH
Now check verse 52 and 53 . Wonderful. The noble man put the times together, mathematically, when Jesus had spoken the word and when the boy was healed. It brings him to the exact time that Jesus had spoken to him. All this implies that his faith however weak it was previously was wonderfully rewarded.Yeah , believing in Jesus Christ brings much rewards. Many people have believed in God and they have been rewarded with great generational blessings . Check Hebrews chapter 11 for proof of this.
CONCLUSION
Precious child of The Mighty God of The Universe, kindly note that Jesus Christ always acts in grace and power of The Holy Spirit to attend to our needs. He grants success and prosperity. In our desperate moments, Christ is there for us. He is always ready to serve exhuberantly. Access to God’s word instills faith, that is necessary for us to receive God’s help in time of need. There are innumerable great rewards of faith. Believing in God through Jesus Christ is the zenith of every spiritual and material blessing. Hebrews 11:6 states , “…..for he who comes to God must believe that He is….a rewarder of them who diligently seek him.” Hence seek God… seek Christ crucified. He leads, we follow Him because He died to set us free.
