INCREDIBLY AMAZING

MATTHEW 16: 13-20

Matthew 16:13–20 (ESV): 13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

Hi, Dear child of The Mighty God in The Highest Heaven. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. The Holy Bible Scripture outlined above is an episode set along the coasts of the sea of Galilee in Caesarea philipi. Jesus Christ asked His disciples an incredibly amazing question: Whom do men say that I the son of Man am? Yes , Jesus Christ is amazing…..He actually portrays a high level of spiritual and natural intelligence that goes beyond human ability.

Just like His exemplary character and behavior, The Lord of glory may pose an extraordinary question to you and I to stir up our faith and actions so as to enable us to access and perform The Will of God. The disciples were equally bewildered and could not clearly comprehend nor answer the question effectively; check verse 13 and 15. The question was spiritual but the disciples took it from the natural perspective. In verse 16, Simon Peter answered and said;  “You are the Christ, the son of The Living God” Here we find a man destined for greatness:Simon Peter who has A Devine Revelation. In essence ,you and I need   prior  knowledge from high above in matters of faith.

 AN ASTOUNDING RESPONSE

The response of Simon Peter was an astounding confession because it is from a spiritual perspective. In matters concerning faith, we need to view things from a spiritual perspective. The spiritual mind clearly understands God’s will. To be spiritually minded helps to access life and peace. Likewise to be naturally or carnally minded can lead to spiritual death.

Hence only The Holy Spirit of The Living God can reveal to us the mind of God concerning our salvation in Christ Jesus. Verse 17 shows exactly what it means for the Holy spirit to reveal the things that are hidden in the spirit world. It is God’s good pleasure to let us understand hidden spiritual truths that lead our freedom in Christ Jesus.

  A REMARKABLE CONFESSION

   Now verse 18 depicts Christ remarkable confession concerning the church. For Peter, his name is now changed from Simon to Peter, which implies a small piece of a rock . Jesus Christ is the Living Rock of Ages  upon which our life finds rest. We are built upon The Living Rock of Ages: Jesus Christ , Our Saviour. The Church belongs to Jesus Christ , It shall stand forever and  the works of darkness cannot prevail against the Work of God. Forever the Word of God is settled in Heaven. You and I are small precious pieces of great pearls that constitute The Body of Jesus Christ.

  AUTHORITY AND POWER

As believers in Christ, we have power and authority given to us by Christ Jesus to overcome and defeat all cohorts of the enemy. Indeed The name of Jesus Christ wields enormous power. You and I are well equipped for a victorious christian life on daily basis; Romans 8:28-37 is about the might of Jesus Christ.

The son of God most High loved us so much that He gave His own life on the cross at Calvary. His life in us is our everyday victory and blessing. We are redeemed from sin and death as He has given us an abundant life from grace to grace. Yes , Jesus Christ is our champion forever . Come experience the generational blessing and bliss which The Son of God Most High avails to all that access His Holy Presence. In His Presence is fullness of joy unspeakable.

CONCLUSION

Hey, Jesus Christ is amazing. He does incredible things. He is always full of great surprises. He is just about to surprise you. The word of God is lined with astonishing and remarkable experiences that are meant to stir up our faith in God. This is because Jesus Christ loves us perfectly well.

He is willing to fashion us into better people for His glory. Christ has good plans for us . He has delegated His authority and power to the church/ believers to make us experience the goodness of God. We are fully redeemed by His precious blood shed for our sins at the cross.Stay blessed always in Christ.
