DIVINE INVITATION
EXODUS 24:12-18
Exodus 24:12–18 (ESV): 12 The LORD said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” 13 So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God. 14 And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.”
15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16 The glory of the LORD dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

Still in verse 12, The Lord God Almighty tells Moses, ” I will give you tables of stone , and a law and commandments which I have written that you may teach them” Hey, the purpose of the invitation was to tell and show Moses what He was to do. POWER AND GLORY OF GOD
In verse 15 and 16, Moses has scaled Mount Sinai. He stopped when he arrived at the cloud . The glory of the Lord abode upon Mount Sinai. This was a spectacular sight to behold from a distance. When we seek to do the will of God diligently, His glory locates us and brings us closer to Him. For six days, Moses Did not hear any communication from God. On the seventh day, God called Moses out of the midst of the cloud. This shows us that whenever we access the presence of God, we need to be patient; keenly waiting to hear from Him. It appeared as though the entire top of The mountain was on fire. In the sight of Israel, it was a spectacle so marvellous; verse 17.
IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD:
In verse 18, Moses went into the midst of the cloud; leaving Joshua at the edge of the cloud. For forty days and forty nights, without food or water, the Lord God had to miraculously sustain Moses. During this period, God was ministering to Moses the heavy duty task that he was to accomplish; that is leading and teaching the children of Israel. The entire period was most exciting in the life of Moses and Joshua because of their closeness to God during that particular time. Here, we learn that our God is full of great surprises. God took sufficient time to teach and instruct Moses on all that he was to do. For us to learn God’s will, we have to take time In the presence of God; prayerfully.
CONCLUSION:
There is a Divine invitation for You and I , ” Come up to me…” Says God. Being our Friend , the Lord our God would like to commune with us. The deep things of the spirit are waiting for us to access them. It’s our duty and business to carry out God’s will effectively with much diligence. Whenever we are in the presence of God, we have to listen keenly, take His instructions and prayerfully act appropriately. Our God is ful of surprises; hence doing what He wants us to do effectively shall always create desirable outcomes in life for many generations. Always stay tuned to Christ Jesus Our Saviour.
