ATTITUDE
MATTHEW 18:1-5
Matthew 18:1–5 (ESV): 18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Hey, precious Child of The Mighty God In the Highest Heaven. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. In the above outlined text from the Holy Bible, the disciples of Jesus Christ came to Him ; desiring to find out about greatness in the Kingdom of God ; verse 1. It is as if each of them had missed out on the right attitudes. Our attitude towards other people need to be well aligned if we shall have to please God ; Our creator . There is need for us to develop a positive mental attitude towards people with whom we interact on daily basis. Jesus Christ; a Master of human relations can help us.
A GREAT LESSON
God who has called us in Christ is Faithful. He knows our weaknesses. In verse 2 , Jesus Christ calls a little child and sets the child in the midst of His disciples. Wonderful indeed. Now check verse 3. Our Lord and Saviour insists on our being converted; that is to say to be born- Again. This shows that our Salvation is paramount. Yes. A child is dependent on one’s parents; hence believers in Christ must depend on Christ because they have a whole world of success awaiting them. Always endeavour to make informed choices.
NO EXCEPTIONS
Humility is the single most element that creates greatness. This is depicted in verse 4 . That is the main reason that makes God to reward humble people. He raises people from dust to greatness; from poverty to riches and from dishonour to honour. Such is the goodness of God. Indeed God’s standard is directly opposite to the standard of the world[1Samuel 2:8]. From this perspective, it requires you and I to access the knowledge of God’s word to help us reach the requirement necessary for propelling us to reach God’s desirable standard.
TRUE GREATNESS
The name of Jesus Christ; The word of God, is God’s standard measure for true greatness. It is in Him that all things exist and all actions are weighed. There is nothing Worth outside Christ Jesus. You and I need to live and operate in the name of Jesus Christ if we shall attain True desirable greatness; Luke 9:28, He alone knows how to single out those who are Truly great in His sight.
CONCLUSION
Greatness requires a positive mental attitude towards other people. To be born-again helps one to be fully dependent on Christ and His finished work on the cross. Humility creates greatness, it raises people poverty to riches and from dishonour to honour. Jesus Christ is God’s standard measure for True greatness. He knows how to single out those who are Truly Great. Hence ,welcome to the world of True Greatness in JESUS CHRIST.
