AN EARLY RISER
MARK 2 ;35-39
Mark 1:35–39 (ESV): 35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” 38 And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” 39 And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.
Hi, Dear Child of The Mighty God of The Universe. Welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. The above stated Holy Bible Scripture is set in the year A.D. 31. In this episode we find that Jesus Christ was a man given to rising up very early in the morning; between 3 a.m . and 5 a.m. He was always an early riser. He knew His Divine Assignment. To him, time is precious.
You and I must recognize the value of time in relation to the speed with which we carry on our daily assignments. Procrastination is the thief of time. Time well spend opens opportunities for progress and development which avails much prosperity. Our God values proper use of time.
A MAN OF PRAYER
Prayer is the pulse of the spiritual life. As a man of prayer, Jesus Christ could not do anything without seeking the Will of God in prayer; verse 35. A strong prayer life was the habit of Jesus Christ; hence this becomes an example for us to emulate. You and I must make a strong prayer life a priority for us to access the much valuable will of God; or else; where can we go without the maker and sustainer of the universe? Strongly, we need Jesus Christ. Check Matthew 14:23-27.
BELOVED BY MANY
Verses 36 and 37 of the main text express the fact that the disciples were seeking Jesus Christ; they said to Him; “…. All men seek for you. ” This means that Christ was at this point a man sought after. His work and character are here-in synchronized to show that He was very exemplary; a role model of very high repute.
Here, we realise that as followers of Christ, we have to develop reputable character and behaviour because we are emulated by many other people around us. People we interact with want to experience the Christ in us.They seek for Jesus Christ who dwells in us.
HEARING FROM ABOVE
Having been at the place of prayer, Jesus Christ has heard the voice and leading of God from heaven. Check verse 38. Now he knows what to do and where to go. Traversing the land of Israel has become his priority.
In verse 39, preaching the good news, healing the people and working out a wealth of deliverances of those possessed by evil spirits becomes His lifestyle. As His follwers,we are to do as He did for the glory of God. The preaching of God’s Word need to be our lifestyle and signs, miracles and wonders shall follow.
CONCLUSION:
Jesus Christ understands Divine Assignment. We need to recognize the value of time in relation to the speed with which to carry out our God- given assignment. Prayer is the pulse of the spiritual life. We have to emulate the strong prayer life of Jesus Christ.
The people around us want to see Jesus Christ operating in us.staying at the place of prayer shall make us to access the Will of God for our life. It is essential for us to trust in God so as to perform the work that Christ has called us to do. Signs , miracles and wonders shall follow us. Stay well informed, stay blessed always
