Hi , welcome to The Stable Sanctuary.
In the passage from 1 Chronicles 21:21-26, we witness a powerful narrative that highlights the themes of sacrifice, redemption, and divine grace. Here, King David, faced with the consequences of his actions, chooses to build an altar to the Lord. This moment is not just about King David. It speaks to each of us in our journeys, reminding us that our choices have profound consequences. Through sincere repentance and sacrifice, we can find redemption , deliverance and peace with God.
SHAPING OUR FUTURE
King David’s decision to purchase the threshing floor from Ornan the Jebusite illustrates the weight of our choices. Each of us faces moments where we must confront the consequences of our actions. Like King David, we may find ourselves in situations where we need to make amends. It’s crucial to recognize that our past does not define us; rather, it is our response to our past that shapes our future. When we acknowledge our mistakes and seek to make things right, we open the door to healing and transformation.
COMMITMENT TO GOD
Building the altar represents more than a physical structure; it symbolizes our commitment to God and our willingness to offer sacrifices. In our lives, we can create our own altars: places of reflection, repentance, and renewal. These altars can be moments of prayer, acts of kindness, or commitments to serve others. Just as King David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, we too are called to give of ourselves. Our sacrifices, whether big or small, are acts of love that can bring us closer to the divine. They foster a sense of community among us.
BACK TO GRACE
When King David built the altar and sought the Lord’s favor, he experienced a powerful encounter with God. This reminds us that no matter how far we stray, there is always a path back to grace. God welcomes us with open arms, ready to forgive and restore. Our sacrifices, when offered with sincerity, can lead to profound experiences of divine love and acceptance. With a broken and contrite heart,King David paid dearly.Such is the sacrifice acceptable to God.
