EMPOWERMENT  BY  GRACE

ACTS  1 : 5-11

Acts 1:5–11 (ESV): 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Hi , welcome to The Stable Sanctuary.

In Acts 1:5-11, we encounter a pivotal moment in the early church as Jesus prepares to ascend to heaven. This passage is not just about His departure; it is a profound promise of Empowerment by  Grace and hope for all of us. Here we are reminded of the inclusive nature of God’s call and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

CREATE  SPACE

Jesus instructed His followers to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the importance of patience and preparation. In our fast-paced world, waiting can feel uncomfortable, but it is essential for spiritual growth. We are called to create space in our lives for the Spirit to move. This waiting period is not a sign of inactivity. It is a time for reflection, prayer, and community building. Together, we can support one another as we prepare for the journey ahead.

COMMISSIONED  TO  WITNESS

As He prepared to ascend , Jesus Christ commissioned His followers to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. This is a call that extends to all of us, regardless of our backgrounds or experiences. We are invited to share our stories and the love of God with those around us. Our diversity is a strength, allowing us to reach a broader audience and reflect the richness of God’s creation. Each of us has a unique voice that contributes to the collective witness of the church.

OUR  CONFIDENCE

Finally, the angels remind the disciples that Jesus will return. This promise reassures us that we are not alone in our mission. The Holy Spirit empowers us, guiding us as we navigate the challenges of life. We can face the future with confidence, knowing that we are supported by a loving and present God.

CONCLUSION

Acts 1:5-11 invites us to embrace the promise of the Holy Spirit, to wait with purpose, to witness boldly, and to trust in God’s presence. Let us move forward together in faith and confidence , empowered by The Holy Spirit, ready to make a difference in our world. [Acts 11:21]. Stay blessed in Christ Jesus.
