IN PURSUIT OF REALITY
MATTHEW 19 : 16,17
Matthew 19:16–17 (NKJV): 16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Hi , welcome to The Stable Sanctuary.
In Matthew 19:16-17, we encounter a rich young man. He approaches Jesus with a classic question: “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” Jesus responds by guiding him. The young man comes to a deeper understanding of what it means to access eternal life. He has to live a life of purpose and fulfillment. This challenges us to examine our own lives. The choices we make in our pursuit of reality matter a lot.
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
The young man seeks a checklist of good deeds. Jesus redirects him to the heart of the matter. “If you want to enter life, keep the commandments,” Jesus said. The invitation to follow the commandments is not about rule-following. It’s about cultivating a relationship with God and others. We are called to live out our faith through acts of love, compassion and justice. True goodness is found in our interactions with one another. Reflecting the divine love that resides within us is our utmost desire.
THE CHALLENGE
Jesus Christ is inviting the young man to let go of his attachments. He challenges him to sell his possessions and give to the poor. This reveals that true life is often found in selflessness and generosity. In our own lives, we may need to examine what holds us back from fully embracing this call. Are we clinging to material wealth, status or fear? Jesus invites us to release those burdens. May we step into a life of abundance that comes from serving others.
CONCLUSION
Matthew 19:16-17 calls us to reflect on our pursuit of reality. Let us embrace the challenge to live out our faith through love and service. We need to let go of what hinders us from following Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. Together, may we engage the correct gear on this journey of transformation. Let us discover the potential joy and fulfillment hidden in Christ. It comes from living in alignment with God’s purpose for our lives. Stay Well Engaged In The Correct Gear In Christ Jesus.
