THE TEST OF FAITH

GENESIS 22:11-14

Genesis 22:11–14 (ESV): 11 But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called the name of that place, “The LORD will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

Hi , welcome to The Stable Sanctuary.

In Genesis 22:11-14, we encounter an exciting episode in Abraham’s journey of faith. As Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac, an angel called out to him, saying, “Do not lay a hand on the boy.” This moment illustrates the ultimate test of faith. Abraham’s willingness to obey, even in the face of unimaginable sacrifice, challenges us to reflect on our own lives. Are we ready to trust God, even when His plans seem unclear or difficult? This story invites us to examine the depths of our faith and our readiness to respond to God’s call.

GOD’S PRESENCE

The angel’s intervention signifies God’s presence in our trials. Just as He intervened for Abraham, we can trust that God is with us in our struggles. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges, we must remember that we are never alone. God sees our sacrifices and hears our prayers. He is always ready to guide us and provide a way out. This assurance encourages us to lean onto our faith, knowing that divine support is just a prayer away.

DIVINE PROVIDENCE

Furthermore, this passage reminds us of God’s provision. After Abraham’s faith was tested, God provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac. This act illustrates Divine Providence. God is always aware of our needs and will provide for us in ways we may not expect. When we surrender our fears and uncertainties to Him, we open ourselves to receive His blessings. Trusting in His provision allows us to live boldly and fearlessly, knowing that He has our best interests at heart.

THE HEART OF SALVATION

The Heart of Salvation plan by God is exhibited. JEHOVAH-JIREH, [meaning “the Lord will provide”] serves to show that Salvation is at hand; [2nd Samuel 24:25]. In the mountain of the Lord, Salvation shall be seen and accessed. Hence, Peace. Shalom.

 CONCLUSION

Genesis 22:11-14 teaches us about the importance of Faith, God’s Presence, Divine Providence and The Heart of Salvation. As we face our own trials, let us remember to trust in God wholeheartedly, knowing that He is with us and will provide for our needs. May we embrace our faith, allowing it to guide us through every challenge and lead us to a deeper relationship with Our Glorious God. Stay blessed with An Exciting Fear of God in Christ Jesus.
