THE LIVING BREAD

John 6:51-58

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.  For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.  This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever

Hi! Once again dear esteemed and precious reader welcome to the Stable Sanctuary. The bible text outlined above is all about our daily bread. The bread of life. It speaks about Jesus Christ, the son of the Living God who has good plans for you and I in this life and in the life to come. Sincerely, the living bread is the word of God; which when one accesses it on daily basis, one is transformed into the likeness of the Son of God. Reading the word of God daily makes one Christ-like; thereby developing into one the character and lifestyle that is acceptable to God according to His standard.

Blood is life. Drinking the blood of Jesus Christ means having faith in Jesus Christ that His blood transforms us also to be like Him. Hence His body (the word) and His blood (His life) combined to enable us become children of God the Most High. This is what God intended for mankind to become . God’s desire is to save us from sin and death; hence only Jesus Christ can save our lives from sin and its effects or consequences.

Jesus Christ, the word of God, lives forever. When one has Christ, then one has everlasting life. The life that Jesus Christ gives is not just passive; rather it is an exciting and highly active life. He alone quickens us in many ways; and one finds oneself involved in carrying out the real life pleasures of God, the Almighty. That is how Jesus Christ lived and worked with His disciples. We may not live differently, but follow His example. He is the champion of every good course in our lives.

Genesis 14:18-20

Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all

Here a wonderful scenario is depicted. Abram coming from a battle against 5 kings meets Melchizedek, a king and priest of God Most High. God had enabled Abram to fight and defeat an army of 5 kings combined. Abram had only 318 men :how he won the war, only God knows. Understand that God Almighty is a man of war. He can never be defeated! And now Melchizedek meets Abram and blesses him with bread and wine. In turn, Abram gives Melchizedek a tenth of what he had as an offering. Remember offerings please God and one’s offerings help to access more blessings from heaven.

Hebrews 7:1-13

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the [a]spoils. And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, 10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.11 Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. 13 For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has [b]officiated at the altar.

All this is intended to let you know that there life’s great battles ahead of you. You may not know this; but God knows what awaits you in this life. Only Him can help you emerge victorious in any battle/tough situations that you will encounter. He, Jesus Christ, is always ready to provide every immediate assistance along the way. Allow Him to accompany you always. He says, ”I am with you always even unto the end of the age”. The presence of Jesus Christ is always assured for you .Hallelujah!

Isaiah 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The son of God, who is the bread from heaven, gave Himself to die for our sins on the cross. He carried all our shortcomings including poverty, sicknesses, ignorance, failure, defeat and all other ills propagated by the enemy. Hey, love Jesus Christ affectionately. He won all battles for you. This means you are most wonderfully blessed by God through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the righteous. He has all that you need and require in this life. Walk with Him.

Isaiah 46:9-10

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please

Wow! God is incomparable. There is none like Him. He is great in deed. Awesome. He declares the end of a matter even before it begins. He has known our life and its course even before it began. He knows our blessings; even before we were born. He has our yesterday, our today and our tomorrow. What a great God of wonders! In Him, we can access all that we desire and need. You and I are better placed in His presence. Joy and happiness are with Jesus Christ now and for always.

Stay in Jesus Christ. Be happy exhuberantly. Remain wonderfully blessed. Amen.
