THE HEAD STONE

LUKE 20:17-18

Hello, welcome to The Stable Sanctuary. Luke 20:17-18, is a classic declaration where Jesus speaks about the cornerstone and the consequences of rejecting it. This scripture not only challenges us. But it also invites us to consider our relationship with the cornerstone of our faith: Jesus Christ. He is The Head Stone [Psalms 118:19-25]. We have to rejoice always and stay glad in Christ.

THE FOUNDATION OF LIFE

In verse 17, Jesus declares, “What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected the same is become the head of the corner?” This powerful imagery speaks to us about the importance of recognizing Jesus as the foundation of life. Just as a cornerstone is essential for the stability of a building, Christ is crucial for our spiritual lives. We must ask ourselves: Are we building our lives on the solid foundation of Christ? Rather are we allowing the distractions of the world to lead us astray? May we allow the wisdom of Christ to guide us always.

HEALING AND RESTORATION

Verse 18 is a dire warning: “Whoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.” Here, Jesus emphasizes the serious consequences of rejecting Him. When we resist the call of Christ, we risk spiritual blindness and brokenness. However, if we humbly fall at His feet, acknowledging our need for Him, we find healing and restoration. Let us remember that embracing Christ leads to wholeness: Life and Peace. Rejecting Christ may lead to devastation now and forevermore.

BUILDING TOGETHER

As a community of believers, we are called to build one another up in faith. When we center our lives around Christ, we create a strong foundation for our relationship. Together, we can encourage each other to embrace The Headstone. We can foster an environment of love, support, and growth by building together our faith in Christ. He is The Principal Figure of the entire humanity and the world. Rising or falling in life depends on God.

CONCLUSION

Luke 20:17-18 challenges us to examine our hearts. Are we recognizing Jesus as our Headstone? Let us choose to build our lives on His truth and grace. We need to understand the importance of accepting Him. As we do so, we will experience the fullness of life He offers. Hence we shall reflect His love to the world around us. Together, let us commit to being a community anchored in Christ. We can remain  steadfast in faith, and eager to share His message of hope. Stay In The Fullness Of Life In Christ Jesus.
