Amos 3:3 (ESV): 3 “Do two walk together,
unless they have agreed to meet?

Amos 3:3 poses a good question: “Can two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” This verse challenges us to consider the nature of our relationships. The importance of unity in our journey of faith cannot be underestimated. Companionship with The God of The Universe can only be enjoyed upon separation from evil. This also applies to our own interpersonal relationships among family, friends and community.

At its core, this verse emphasizes the necessity of agreement for meaningful companionship. In our diverse communities, we are called to find common ground. This does not mean that we must all think alike or agree on every issue.  Rather that we seek to understand one another and work towards shared goals. Walking together signifies a journey, one that is enriched by our collective experiences. As we navigate the challenges of life, it is essential to support one another.
